The very first of our Remarkable Regional Malts launched in 2009, Big Peat is our feisty Ileach fisherman, encapsulating the very best of Islay. With sweetness and plenty of peat smoke, Big Peat brings the perfect balance of flavour. A marriage of Single Malts only from Islay, including those distilled at Caol Ila, Bowmore, and (even the elusive) Port Ellen.

Inspired by a long line of Douglas Laing family Fox Terriers; Scallywag Malt Scotch Whisky is a marriage of aged Speyside Single Malts matured predominantly in Spanish Sherry casks. Representative of all Speyside has to offer, anticipate dark fruits, chocolate and spices interwoven with notes of vanilla.

The original Timorous Beastie, immortalised in Robert Burns’ famous poem ‘To a Mouse’ was a little, timid field mouse. Our very own wee, cowrin’ sleekit Timorous Beastie is timorous by name only, certainly not by nature. Our Highland Malt Scotch Whisky is robust with a medley of vanilla, malted barley, meringue, honey, and citrus flavours.

Douglas Laing’s maritime Malt is an extraordinary distillation of the very best Single Malts from the glorious islands of Islay, Jura, Arran, and Orkney. Rock Island offers a beautiful balance of complex flavours, revealing waves of salty and sweet notes. Rock Island is subtle yet smoky, perfectly shaped by the sea.

The Epicurean is our 1930s Glasgow gentleman, a real cheeky character who was ever the life and soul of the party and a connoisseur of fine food and drink. A master of versatility, this fresh, zesty, grassy, marriage of the finest Lowland malts is perfect for cocktail hour or simply for sipping.

Occupying a remote location, even by Campbeltown’s standards, on the extreme west cost of Scotland, The Gauldrons literally means “bay of storms”. An ode to Scotland’s ever-changing weather, but also the many ghost stories that sprung from in and around Campbeltown. All around, you can sense the ghosts of the long-lost distilleries that once proudly proclaimed Campbeltown Scotland’s Whisky capital. As the final addition, The Gauldrons completes our Remarkable Regional Malts.
