Douglas Laing’s ethos is ‘As natural as it gets’. Simply put, we don’t chill-filter or colour our whisky, and we bottle at a higher alcohol strength than most other producers. Boasting the best of Speyside… rich fruity and spicy with notes of vanilla, we think enjoying it neat is a great choice.
Scallywag, Ginger Ale & Fresh Lime
Mix our sweetly spiced Scallywag with premium ginger ale and a squeeze of fresh lime for a long serve that’s refreshing, zesty and spicy!
INGREDIENTS:
- Cubed ice
- 50ml Scallywag Speyside Malt Scotch Whisky
- 150ml premium ginger ale
- Fresh lime
GLASS: Hi-ball
METHOD:
- Fill a hi-ball glass with cubed ice
- Add 50ml Scallywag, 150ml premium ginger ale and a squeeze of fresh lime
- Stir, then garnish with a lime wheel!
Scallywag Boulevardier
Let the spicy Sherry notes of our Scallywag Speyside Malt hail sublime in Whisky’s answer to the popular, bitter-sweet Negroni serve
INGREDIENTS:
- 25ml Scallywag Speyside Malt Scotch Whisky
- 25ml sweet vermouth
- 25ml Campari
- Cubed ice
- 1 large ice cube or sphere
- Orange peel twist
GLASS: Rocks
METHOD:
- Pour 25ml Scallywag, 25ml vermouth and 25ml Campari into a mixing glass with ice
- Stir well until the outside of the glass feels cold
- Strain into a rocks glass and add 1 large cube or sphere of ice
Garnish with an orange peel twist
Scallywag Manhattan
A classic cocktail derived from the wonderful world of Whisky, let this timeless and tasty serve transport you back in time to a sophisticated speakeasy bar in the bustling Big Apple
INGREDIENTS:
- 25ml Scallywag Speyside Malt Scotch Whisky
- 15ml sweet vermouth
- Cubed ice
- Maraschino cherry
GLASS: Coupe
METHOD:
- Fill both a mixing glass and coupe with ice
- Add 25ml Scallywag and 15ml sweet vermouth to the mixing glass
- Stir well until the outside of the glass feels cold
- Discard the ice from the coupe
- Strain the cocktail into the now-chilled coupe
Garnish with a maraschino cherry
Scallywag Espresso Martini
What’s not to love about a caffeinated sherry bomb? This rich and discerning serve becomes even more indulgent with a sprinkling of dark chocolate shavings!
INGREDIENTS:
- 25ml Scallywag Speyside Malt Scotch Whisky
- 25ml premium coffee liqueur
- 25ml freshly brewed espresso
- Cubed ice
- Dark chocolate shavings
GLASS: Martini
METHOD:
- Chill the martini glass
- Add 25ml Scallywag, 25ml coffee liqueur and 25ml freshly brewed espresso into a cocktail shaker filled with cubed ice
- Shake vigorously until cold, then strain into the chilled glasses
Garnish with a sprinkling of dark chocolate shavings!
Scallywag Hot Chocolate
Cosy up with a warming mug of Scallywag hot chocolate and let the rich, fruity notes of our Speyside Malt elevate a classically comforting serve
INGREDIENTS:
- 25ml Scallywag 10yo Speyside Malt Scotch Whisky
- 25ml whole milk
- 1tbsp cocoa
- 25g dark chocolate, finely chopped, plus a grating to serve
- 1 tbsp whipped or squirty cream
GLASS: Mug
METHOD:
- Heat the milk, cocoa, and dark chocolate in a small pan over a medium heat until steaming and the chocolate has melted, then whisk to dissolve the cocoa
- Pour 25ml Scallywag into a mug, then add the hot chocolate and stir
Add the cream to float on top and grate a little more dark chocolate, marshmallows, or chocolate chips to serve
Scallywag Irish Coffee
A Scotch twist on the classic Irish coffee, this is an elevated take on the original.
INGREDIENTS:
• 50ml Scallywag Speyside Malt Scotch Whisky
• 2 tbsp double cream
• 150ml freshly brewed black coffee
• 1 tsp brown sugar
• A pinch of nutmeg
GLASS: Irish Coffee Glass
METHOD:
1. Whip the double cream lightly so its slightly thickened and set aside
2. Pour the hot coffee into your Irish Coffee glass, then add the whisky and sugar and stir until all the sugar is dissolved.
3. Carefully spoon the cream on the top and sprinkle the nutmeg over the top. Serve hot.
Scallywag Valentines Cocktail
Our take on the classic White Russian, this deliciously rich creation is the perfect dessert cocktail, with Scallywag’s rich and spicy Speyside character at its heart.
INGREDIENTS:
• 40ml Scallywag 10yo Speyside Malt Scotch Whisky
• 25ml Hazelnut Liqueur
• 25ml Dark Chocolate Liqueur
• 100ml whole milk
METHOD:
1. Combine all ingredients in a shaker with cubed ice.
2. Shake vigorously and strain into a chilled coupe glass.
3. Garnish with dark chocolate shavings to serve.
